The Birth of a New Farm.....

Brookhaven Mill Farm began as the Anderson Farm in 1882 in Guilford County, NC. After having passed through several owners, each lovingly adding their own style and improvements, the farm is now owned by Cheryl Preston, who manages over 100 animals, including donkeys, mini horses, sheep, goats, chickens and geese, and opens the farm gates to the public as an agritourism experience.   

The Farm has quickly become popular with the locals for providing locally-sourced food and gifts, especially the farm eggs. 

Stop by any weekend to see the animals for free; or pay $1 for critter food if you want to feed them!  For a more interactive experience, try our "Animal Therapy" where we open our barnyard up and allow you to visit with our animals in their environment. 

We have a large Barn Pavilion we rent out for folks to hold their own workshops, reunions, office parties, or what has become wildly popular:  Kids Barnyard Birthday Bashes that include a visit to our chicken pen, a ride on the kiddie choo-choo and a trip inside our petting zoo! 

Want the country experience but not necessarily engaging with our animals?  Book a stay at our historic farmhouse with 2 large rooms overlooking the property and watch the sheep graze from your bedroom window! We allow weekend stays year-round! 

Enjoy a made-to-order country breakfast served on beautiful china in our parlor. If you want to arrive the night before and pick  your own eggs for breakfast the next morning, the chicken coop is just steps away and our eggs are beautiful, delicious and nutritious!   

Getting married and on a tight budget? We offer up our property for you to have the wedding you desire and guests will never forget!       

Cheryl Preston brings decades of experience in both retail and hospitality,  as well as a professional career in the government and private sector.  Her background in organizational management, marketing and business enables the farm to offer up camping,  special events venue, Charlie's Farm store, petting zoo and a B&B.  

A lifelong lover of animals and a desire to share this historic farm with others has been a dream come true for Cheryl to be able to share this historic property to the public in a variety of ways to create a unique and memorable experience!
